This client was experiencing trouble with their Cat D4G due to heat contamination to the Rexroth A4VG71 hydraulic pump. Following quick stripping and inspection, our expert engineers promptly diagnosed and addressed the issue, allowing the client to get back to work.
Our client was operating a Cat D4G bulldozer, which began to demonstrate issues with key hydraulic functions. The poor hydraulic performance was linked to the integrated Rexroth A4VG71 pump, which was not operating as intended. The client extracted the pump and sent it to our facility in Worcestershire for a rapid diagnosis. Our engineers found that the rotary groups inside the pump were damaged to heat contamination.
With the issue identified, we provided the client with a repair quote. They accepted the quote and we began working on the pump. Both rotary groups inside the Rexroth unit were replaced using OEM parts, along with all bearings and seals. The whole unit was then tested under simulated operating conditions using our in-house testing rig. Having performed as expected, the A4VG71 was securely packaged and returned to the client.
After delivery, the client was able to quickly reinstall the good-as-new Rexroth pump to their bulldozer and resume work. With quick diagnosis and reliable repairs, we helped the client minimise downtime and restored the pump to reliable working condition.
