Material Handling Sector
CJ Plant carries out specialist hydraulic repairs for machinery used throughout the material handling sector, including forklift trucks and telehandlers. When a hydraulic pump or motor fails, repairing and reconditioning the existing unit can often be a practical alternative to replacement, helping reduce downtime and get machinery back to work sooner.

Hydraulic Pump and Motor Repairs in the Material Handling Sector
Hydraulics power key functions relied upon in material handling, such as lifting, steering and load handling. When a pump or motor fails, machine performance can quickly suffer.
CJ Plant repairs and reconditions hydraulic components used in material handling equipment, starting with a free strip and inspection. With over 70 years of collective experience, our engineers replace worn parts where required before rebuilding and testing each unit.
Why Hydraulic Repairs Are Needed in the Material Handling Sector
Material handling machinery often works for long periods under heavy loads, which can lead to contamination, worn parts, damaged seals and overheating.
Slower lifting, reduced power, leaks or unusual noises can signal a developing hydraulic fault. Repairing problems early can help reduce disruption and avoid unnecessary replacement costs.

Frequently Asked Questions
The type of hydraulic pump or motor used will depend on the machine and the job it is designed to do. Pumps and motors may be responsible for functions such as lifting, steering, driving and controlling attachments, all of which rely on consistent hydraulic pressure and flow.
We repair hydraulic pumps and motors used in material handling machinery including forklift trucks and telehandlers. If you are unsure whether we can repair your particular unit, contact us with the make and model and our engineers can advise you.
Common causes include contaminated hydraulic oil, worn internal components, damaged seals, overheating, cavitation and incorrect operating pressure. Normal wear can also gradually reduce performance, particularly on machinery used heavily every day.
Slow or weak lifting, reduced hydraulic power, oil leaks, overheating, unusual noises and inconsistent operation can all point to a developing hydraulic fault. If your machine is no longer responding as it normally does, having the affected pump or motor inspected can help identify the cause before further damage develops.
