Hydraulic Pump and Motor Repairs in the Scrap Metal Sector
Scrap metal machinery is expected to work hard, often handling heavy loads throughout the working day. When a hydraulic pump or motor begins to fail, lifting power, movement and overall machine performance can quickly be affected.
CJ Plant repairs and reconditions hydraulic components used across the sector. Each unit is stripped and inspected free of charge before we provide a detailed report and no-obligation quote.
Where repair is possible, worn or damaged parts are replaced as required before the unit is cleaned, rebuilt and tested. Find out more about our hydraulic pump repairs and hydraulic motor repairs.
Why Hydraulic Repairs Are Needed in the Scrap Metal Sector
Hydraulic components used in scrap metal operations can face heavy loads, long working hours and exposure to dirt and contamination. Over time, bearings and internal surfaces can wear, while contaminated hydraulic oil or excessive heat can cause further damage.
Problems may first appear as reduced power, slower operation, oil leaks or unusual noises. Having the affected component inspected early can help limit further damage and may make repair a practical alternative to replacing the complete unit.
For businesses relying on hydraulic machinery throughout the working day, a breakdown can quickly disrupt operations. Getting the pump or motor repaired promptly helps minimise downtime and get the machine back into service.

Our Process
Contact us to arrange a quote when your plant and machinery is down, you need a solution fast. We can provide rapid pick up, evaluation, diagnosis, and accurate quote to get you up and running in the quickest possible time. Our professional team are skilled in all aspects of hydraulic repair, rebuilding and maintenance and pride ourselves on helping our clients minimise their downtime and any interruption to their operations.
All units received into the workshop are cleaned before being stripped. One of our skilled engineers will then carefully dismantle and inspect your unit free of charge.
Our inspection is followed up with comprehensive findings report and competitive no obligation quote for any required work.
As part of the repair process, all damaged and worn parts will be replaced, along with all bearings and seals. Frequently Asked Questions
The type of hydraulic pump or motor used depends on the machine and the work it carries out. Hydraulic components can power functions such as lifting and moving heavy materials, all of which rely on consistent oil flow and pressure.
We repair hydraulic pumps, motors and related components from machinery including excavators, forklift trucks, crushers and dump trucks. If you are unsure whether we can repair the unit from your machine, contact our team with the make and model.
Common causes include contaminated hydraulic oil, overheating, worn bearings and seals, cavitation and general internal wear. Heavy use can also accelerate wear, particularly when contamination or another developing hydraulic fault is left unresolved.
Loss of hydraulic power, slow or inconsistent movement, oil leaks, unusual noises and overheating can all indicate a problem with a hydraulic pump or motor. If the machine starts behaving differently during normal operation, having the affected component inspected can help identify the fault before more serious damage develops.
